VTB Bank (Kazakhstan) has implemented technology of secure online-operations 3-D Secure
VTB Bank (Kazakhstan) has implemented a new technology of paying for purchases and services in Internet for clients-holders of Visa cards - 3-D Secure, which will provide customers with a new level of security for online-operations with bank cards.
Customers of the Bank who activate 3 -D Secure service will have an opportunity to confirm each transaction with unique password when conducting operations in Internet. After entering card details, customer is redirected to special page for entering one-time password, which is delivered in the form of sms-messages to his mobile phone number registered in VTB Bank (Kazakhstan). After verification of the password entered by customer, the Bank sends permit for conducting operation to online-store. This password is sent directly at the moment of conducting online-operation and can be used only once after confirmation.
Dmitry Yakovlev, acting Deputy Chairman of the Board – Member of the Board of Subsidiary JSC VTB Bank (Kazakhstan): «When working with bank cards in Internet, it is very important that no confidential data will not be known to third parties. Thus, in addition to existing protection systems VTB Bank (Kazakhstan) has implemented 3–D Secure technology. This service expands opportunities of customers when working with bank cards and also eliminates risk of fraudulent operations and unauthorized use of payment card. Service is available to all customers who filled out application for connecting the service of «SMS-notifications for card transactions» at any branch of the Bank».
3-D Secure technology is activated simultaneously with connection of «SMS-notifications for card transactions» (or after changing the phone number used for SMS-notifications). For current customers who have connected the service, 3-D Secure technology will be activated automatically.
