⚠ Beware of fraudsters!

To prevent fraud, Subsidiary VTB (Kazakhstan) recommends to observe security measures and not to transfer your personal data and details to third parties.

How to protect yourself? How do fraudsters operate?

Fraudsters may present themselves as the employees of the bank, law enforcement agencies, or other organizations, and try to gain access to your personal data under various pretexts. In general, fraudsters can call from any number, using the phone or messengers. When calling from messengers, the bank’s logo is often displayed on the avatar.

Fraudsters try to intimidate the client to take advantage of his/her confusion and get personal data from him/her faster. To create a greater effect, the fraudster’s accomplices join the conversation, posing as the law enforcement officers and the cellular operators with the information that the sim card has expired.

Another of the most common schemes is to formalize credit to the victim through fraudulent means. Fraudsters, having gained the victim’s trust, force them to install official applications or programs such as TeamViewer, Anydesk, RustDesk, Hoptodesk, Rudesktop, and others. These programs provide remote access to all information on the device.

Dear customers, please observe the safety precautions:

never share your passwords or personal information;
codes from SMS to confirm transactions (most often come from 1414);
PINs and passwords for mobile banking;
do not send a photo of the card and CVV codes on the reverse of the card;
do not change personal data at the request of third parties;
do not download unfamiliar programs or follow suspicious links;
do not take out loans at the request of third parties;
be careful what you post on social media, fraudsters can use this information;
do not fall for offers of quick money, such as investments in companies – these are often tricks of fraudsters;
before transferring money, always check the information, call, and make sure who you are transferring money to.

⚠ Important to know! Bank employees will never offer to transfer money to other accounts, and will not ask for SMS codes, codewords, and passwords.
